BRODEUR LEADS TRINITY BASEBALL PAST WESTFIELD
Hartford, Conn.- Senior second baseman Todd Brodeur (Auburn, MA) drove in
three runs to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 9-4 win over the
visiting Westfield State College Owls baseball action this afternoon.
Brodeur started the scoring for the Bants in the first inning with a
two-run, bases-loaded single. He came up again in the third after Westfield
tied the score at two, and drilled a two-out RBI single.
The Bantams put the game out of reach with a three-run fifth inning
that featured a Jim Klocek (Grafton, MA) two-out, two-RBI single. Trinity
received solid work on the hill from sophomore Greg Spanos (Auburn, MA), who
went eight strong innings. Spanos was aided by his defense that played
errorless ball.
