EASTERN'S CHADWICK SILENCES TRINITY BASEBALL


Hartford, Conn.- Junior righthander Michael Chadwick (South Kingstown, RI)
scattered eight hits and allowed one run in a complete game to lead the
Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors to a 4-1 win over the visiting
Trinity College Bantams in baseball action this evening at ECSU Baseball
Stadium. 
	Trinity, which is ranked No. 4 in New England and No. 22 in the
nation, falls to 17-6, while the Warriors, ranked No. 1 in New England and
No. 9 nationally, improves to 23-4.
	Trinity got on the board in the top of the first on a sacrifice fly
by senior first baseman Brian Powell (Holyoke, MA), but Eastern Connecticut
answered with runs in the second and third innings.  Sophomore designated
hitter Nick Scheets (Milford, CT) scored on a double play in the second and
junior centerfielder George Dixon (Stamford, CT) hit a solo home run to left
field in the third.
	The Warriors scored another run in the seventh inning when senior
first baseman Jason Wetherall (Milford, CT) doubled and scored on an infield
hit by Dixon.  In the eighth, Eastern scored its fourth run on a squeeeze
play.
	Trinity senior righthander Brendan Moss (Orange, CT) pitched into
the eighth inning, allowing seven hits and striking out four, in a strong
effort.  Chadwick struck out eight as both pitchers are now 3-2.
