BARBAROTTA HELPS TRINITY SPLIT ON THE DIAMOND
Waltham, MA - Senior third baseman Jayson Barbarotta (Trumbull, CT) led had
three hits and three RBI to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a
12-6 win in the second game and a split of a doubleheader against the
Brandeis University Judges in baseball action this afternoon. Trinity,
which is ranked No. 4 in New England and No. 22 in the nation, is now 21-7,
while Brandeis is 17-17).
The Bantams scored nine runs in the third inning to record the 7-4
win. Senior first baseman Brian Powell (Holyoke, MA) added three hits and
classmate Brendan Moss (Orange, CT) recorded his fourth win of the season on
the mound for the Bantams.
In the first game, Trinity sophomore second baseman Greg Spanos
(Auburn, MA) homered to give Trinity a 1-0 lead in the top of first inning,
but the Judges scored a run in the bottom of the inning. Brandeis scored
four runs in the sixth, including two on a dropped fly ball.
