The Trinity College men's soccer team, coached by Ed Mighten (10th season) lost their only game last week with a 4-2 loss to Williams College; the nation's #1 ranked Division III men's soccer team.
Freshman forward Morgan Sandell (Cohasset, MA) and junior forward Brett MacQuarrie (Cohasset, MA) scored the two Trinity goals, but their effort was not enough to topple the Ephs. The two forwards are tied for team lead in scoring with six points. Junior goalkeeper Tom Hambrick-Stowe (Lancaster, PA) collected five saves in the loss.
Trinity are now in seventh place in the NSCAA Division III New England Regional Poll this Week:

Volleyball (9-6) Nets Two Wins at Wesleyan Tournament
The Trinity College volleyball team had a busy schedule this week, posting a 3-1 record in four matches. The Bantams, coached by Fran Vandermeer (fourth season), defeated Keene State, 3-1, and then took two of three matches at Wesleyan, defeating Smith, 3-1, and St. Joseph, 3-0, while falling to Wesleyan, 3-2.
Freshman outside hitter Isabelle Krusen (Tampa, FL) led the Bantams to a win over Keene State with 10 kills and 16 digs. Sophomore Molly Roach (Austin, TX) propelled the team to a 2-1 record at Wesleyan with 25 kills, 38 digs, and nine service aces. Sophomore Kristin Hagan (Kentfield, CA) has team highs in both kills (158) and digs (176), and appears among the NESCAC leaders in both.
Women's Soccer (2-4) Defeats Salve Regina
The Trinity women's soccer team, coached by Michael Smith (third season), finished the week with a record of 1-1. The Bantams defeated Salve Regina 4-0, but lost to undefeated Williams College 1-0.
Sophomore forward Kerry Hood (Londonderry, NH) led the team in its victory over Salve Regina with three goals. Junior midfielder Karen O'Keefe (North Branford, CT), assisted by Courtney Stewart (Trumbull, CT), scored the other Trinity goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Bradley (Mansfield, CT) totaled 11 saves in the loss to Williams. Hood's hat trick put her at the top of the Bantam scoring list with six points.
Field Hockey (0-5) Loses Two
Trinity College field hockey team, coached by Kara Tierney (first season), finished the week 0-2 with losses to Springfield, 3-2, and Williams, 4-2.
Freshman forward Lindsay Peet (Stowe, VT) scored the first goal of her Trinity career against the Pride, while junior midfielder Mary Jacobs (Malvern, PA) netted two goals versus the Ephs. Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Martin (Fort Myers, FL) made a total of 30 saves in the two games. Martin is second in the NESCAC with 80 saves this fall.
Women's Tennis (3-2) Sends Players to Rolex
The Trinity College women's tennis team, coached by Wendy Bartlett (16th season), went 1-0 this week, winning their third straight match, 7-2, over Division I University of Hartford. The team also had some individual success this week at the Rolex Tournament held at Brandeis University over the weekend.
Freshman Courtney Sargeant (Attleboro, MA) advanced to the quarterfinals and junior Olga Bogatyrenko (Kharkov, Ukraine) won the consolation bracket at the Rolex Tournament. The pair also along collected singles victories in the team's win over Hartford. Sargeant (6-2) and Bogatyrenko (6-3) are tied for the team-lead in singles wins in their first full seasons with the team. Bogatyrenko enjoyed a successful spring season after transferring to Trinity in the second semester of 1998-99.
Golf Competes at NESCAC's
The Trinity College golf team, coached by Bill Detrick (ninth season), finished 10th at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championships at Williams on Sunday. Sophomore David Magid (Orange, CT) shot a 75 to finish fourth overall in the tourney, which was cut to just one round due to heavy rain on Monday.
