Connecticut

Hartford, Conn., July 24 - Eleven Connecticut student-athletes were awarded varsity letters as members of the 1999-00 Trinity College wrestling team and women’s and men’s swimming and diving teams. The wrestling team, coached by Sebastian Amato, finished the season with a 14-11 overall record and placed fifth at the New England College Conference Wrestling Association (NECCWA) Championships. The women's swimming and diving teams finished 3-7 and placed 15th at the NCAA Division III New England Championships, while the men's squad had a 5-5 dual mark and finished 13th at New Englands. Both swimming and diving teams were coached by Amy Heasley Williams.

Senior co-captain Andrew Lovig (Bethany, CT) received a Gold Award for having earned four varsity letters in his Bantam swimming career, while junior wrestlers Ted Govola (Rocky Hill, CT) and Michael Marcucio (Derby, CT), and junior swimmer Cory Bernard (Seymour, CT) each received a Blue Award for earning three varsity letters in his or her respective career.

Sophomore wrestler Matt Banas (Meriden, CT), freshman wrestlers Eric Egolf (Glastonbury, CT) and Anthony Marcucio (Derby, CT), junior swimmer Matt Schiller (Vernon, CT), sophomore swimmer Christian Sterling (Glastonbury, CT) and freshman swimmers Coley Dale (Bloomfield, CT) and Hilary Roberts (Orange, CT) also earned varsity letters for the Trinity wrestling and swimming and diving squads.

Massachusetts

Sophomore swimmers Lydia Barrett (Haverhill, MA) and Katie Lafleur (Belchertown, MA), freshman swimmers Lara Centofanti (Hanson, MA) and Karen Huebner (Burlington, MA), and freshman wrestler Mark Foresi (West Springfield, MA) also earned varsity letters for the Trinity swimming and diving and wrestling squads.

Junior wrestler Riad deFreitas (Silver Spring, MD) and junior swimmer Nathaniel Folkemer (Gibson Island, MD) each received a Blue Award for earning three varsity letters in his or her respective career.

Maine

Sophomores Carey Friedman (Bath, ME) and Eric Beigeleisen (Falmouth, ME) each earned a varsity letter for the Trinity women's and men's swimming and diving squad, respectively.

Rhode Island

Hartford, Conn., July 24 - Sophomore Alex Blanchard (Warwick, RI) was awarded a varsity letter as a member of the 1999-00 Trinity College men’s swimming and diving team. The Bantams, coached by Amy Heasley Williams, had a 5-5 dual mark and finished 13th at New Englands.

Illinois

Senior co-captain Emily Polito (Joliet, IL) received a Gold Award for having earned four varsity letters in her Bantam swimming career, while sophomore Tizoc Olivo (Chicago, IL) also earned a varsity letters for the Trinity swimming and diving squad.

Alaska

Hartford, Conn., July 24 - Senior co-captain Ryan Young (Anchorage, AK) received a Gold Award for having earned four varsity letters as a member of the Trinity College men’s swimming and diving team. The 1999-00 Bantams, coached by Amy Heasley Williams, had a 5-5 dual mark and finished 13th at New Englands.

Alabama

Hartford, Conn., July 24 - Sophomore Jessica Harmon (Selma, AL) was awarded a varsity letter as a member of the 1999-00 Trinity College women’s swimming and diving team. The Bantams, coached by Amy Heasley Williams, finished 3-7 and placed 15th at the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
