List of Trinity All-New England Swimmers |
Hartford, Conn., May 15 – Trinity College women’s swimming and diving senior tri-captain Cory Bernard (Seymour, Conn.) finished with the fifth-best time in New England Division III in the 50-yard butterfly, earning a spot on the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEWISDA) All-New England Squad. Bernard’s time of 27.31 in the 50-yard butterfly was a new College record.
Trinity also had two women’s swimmers earn honorable mention All-New England honors and four men’s swimmers and divers receive New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) honorable mention All-New England recognition.
Bantam freshman Julia Kaye (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) posted the ninth-best time in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:25.36) and the 16th-best time in the 500-yard freestyle (5:21.16) to earn All-New England honorable mention. Classmate Elizabeth Stoker (Westwood,Mass.) swam the 16th-best time in New England in the 50-yard backstroke (30.36), also receiving All-New England honorable mention.
For the Trinity men’s squad, senior tri-captain Christopher Nicholas (Seekonk, Mass.) made All-New England honorable mention for swimming the 10th-best time in the region in the 100-yard individual medley (57.27). Senior diver Bradford Albus (New Canaan, Conn.) posted the 14th-best score in the one-meter dive (344.45) and the 15th-best score in the three-meter dive (331.05) to earn All-New England honorable mention.
Junior Christian Sterling (Glastonbury, Conn.) made All-New England honorable mention in both the 1,650-yard freestyle with the 12th-best time in New England (17:01.38) and the 200-yard butterfly with the 15th-best time in the region (2:04.65.). Sophomore Chris Rorer (Villanova, Pa.) made the All-New England honorable mention list in three events, posting the 10th-best time in the 50-yard breaststroke (28.60), the 14th-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.20), and the 14th-best time in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.99).
The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are both coached by Kristen Noone. The men finished with a record of 3-6 and finished 10th at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships, while the women finished at 2-7 in dual meets and 11th at the NESCAC Championships.
The NEWISDA and the NEISDA include all schools competing in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), of which Trinity is a member, the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), and the remaining New England schools that compete in the New England Division III Championships.
