| Quick Earns McCook Award as Trinity's Top Male Senior Athlete |
HARTFORD Conn., June 13 -- Senior men's squash co-captain Preston Quick (Lakewood, CO) has been presented the 1999-00 McCook Award for being the top senior male athlete at Trinity College.
Quick was presented the award by Trinity College President Evan Dobelle at a ceremony on May 1 at the President's house. He was also honored by President Dobelle and Director of Athletics Richard Hazelton at the College's annual Senior Banquet that evening.
Quick earned first team All-American honors this season for the national champion Bantam men's squash team, compiling a 17-0 dual-match record. Quick, who also advanced to the semifinals of the national singles championship tourney, is the College's all-time leader in wins with a 72-5 career mark.
In 1998-99, Quick teamed with Joseph Pentland 99 to win the national doubles title. He was a first team All-American in each of his four years at Trinity. The squad went to the national team championship finals in all four of Quick's seasons at the College, winning the title in 1998-99 and this year.
