Trinity Hires Parmenter 
as Head Field Hockey Coach

Hartford, Conn., May 14 – Anne Parmenter (East Lyme, Conn.) has been hired as the head field hockey coach at Trinity College. She will take over a team that posted a 1-13 overall record in 2000 and finished 10th in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).

Parmenter has served as the head field hockey at NESCAC rival Connecticut College for the past 14 seasons, compiling a 98-96-7 record with six Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship appearances. She was also the head women’s lacrosse coach at Connecticut College from 1991-2000 with a career record of 107-47 and nine ECAC Division III New England Championship appearances, ECAC titles in 1994 and 2000, and an NCAA Division III Championship Tournament appearance in 1996. In addition Parmenter was assistant athletic director, Senior Women’s Administrator, and physical education adjunct professor at Connecticut College.

Prior to her stint at Connecticut College, Parmenter was an assistant field hockey, women’s lacrosse, and women’s squash coach at Amherst College from 1985-87. She has also been an assistant field hockey coach at the University of Massachusetts and Holy Cross.

Still an active field hockey player herself, Parmenter has played at the National Festival for the last 13 years. She was a member of the first British National Club championship team which represented Great Britain in the World Cup.

A native of England, Parmenter graduated from Chelsea College in 1981 with a degree in education, and earned her master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1987. She will also serve as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Trinity.
