Devanney Hired as Defensive Line
Coach for Trinity Football

HARTFORD, Conn., May 16 – Jeff Devanney (New Britain, Conn.), a 1993 graduate of Trinity College, has been hired as the defensive line coach for the Trinity football team. The Bantams, coached by Chuck Priore, finished sixth in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) with a 4-4 record last fall.

Devanney served the previous three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Central Connecticut State University, also coaching the linebackers in 1998 and 1999 and the secondary last fall. Devanney was also a defensive secondary coach at Georgia Tech from 1996-1998, wide receivers and tight ends coach at SUNY-Albany from 1994-1996, and wide receivers coach at the United States Coast Guard Academy in 1994 and 1995.

Devanney earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Trinity in 1993 and a master’s degree in liberal studies from Albany in 1995. At Trinity, Devanney starred in football and baseball. As a senior, he was the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year and voted team Most Valuable Player in both sports. He will also serve as the coordinator of the Trinity Fitness Center.
