Botts Wins Trinity's Bartlett Award 
for Service and Athletic Excellence

Hartford, Conn., May 2 - Senior and football letterwinner Charles Botts (Boston, Mass.) was named as one of two recipients of the Trinity College 2000-01 Robert R. Bartlett Award for excellence in athletics and devotion to the community and/or campus service.

The 2000 Bantam football team, coached by Chuck Priore, posted a 4-4 record. Botts started all eight games at cornerback for the Trinity defense, making 32 tackles (22 solo) with three pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one interception.

At Trinity, Botts has served as president of the Black Students Union, been an active member of the Multicultural Affairs Council, and served three years as class representative on the Student Government Association. Botts has also participated in Habitat for Humanity projects, campus clothing drives, and the Black Students Union Big Brother/Sister program.
