Men’s Tennis Begins Spring 
With Rain and Wins (7-1)

The Trinity College men’s tennis team opened the 2003 spring season in rainy Hilton Head, S.C. with a 4-3 win against Carthage on Mar. 19, followed by 7-0 shutouts against Hamilton and St. Lawrence on Mar. 20, and a 5-2 triumph against Wisc.-LaCrosse on Mar. 21. The Bantams returned North with a 6-1 win at Skidmore on Mar. 30, a 5-3 win at Colby on Apr. 4, a 7-0 loss at Bowdoin on Apr. 5, and a 7-0 blanking of Hobart in its home opener on Apr. 6.

Junior tri-captain Richard Lawrence

Freshman Jon Hart (Bayshore, Trinidad) won a 6-3, 6-4 singles match at the No. 1 position and an 8-6 decision with junior tri-captain Richard Lawrence (Toronto, Ontario) at No. 1 doubles in the win at Colby, which was ranked No. 12 in the Northeast region entering the match.

After the loss at Bowdoin, which was ranked No. 2 in the Northeast and No. 6 in the nation entering the match, senior tri-captain Scott Levy (Waban, Mass.) dominated in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and teamed with freshman Jimmie Ames (Sturbridge, Mass.) for an 8-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles in the win against Hobart..

Hart leads Trinity with an 8-1 singles record, while junior Csaba Godry (Budapest, Hungary) is 6-1, and Ames is 9-3 (team-high win total). In doubles, Levy and Ames have combined for an 8-2 mark.

Rowing Teams (M2-0, W1-0) Sweep First Eights Races at Tufts

The Trinity College men’s and women’s rowing teams competed against Coast Guard and Tulane on Malden River at Tufts on Apr. 5 to open the 2003 season. The Trinity men’s varsity eight won races against Coast Guard and Tulane, while the Bantam women edged Coast Guard.

Against Coast Guard, whose women were ranked No. 4 in the nation entering the race, the men’s varsity eight crew edged its rival boat from Coast Guard by two seconds, and easily defeated the varsity eight crew Tulane. The Bantam women downed Coast Guard, coming in just one second ahead at 6:55.18 after maintaining a 3/4 length lead for the majority of the race. The races were held despite rain, sleet, snow, and thunderstorms in the area. Trinity boats also posted first-place finishes in the women’s novice eight race and women’s second novice eight race, while the Bantam men’s second novice eight won two races.

The Bantam men’s lineup against Coast Guard and Tulane consisted of freshman Ed Slater (New York, N.Y.), sophomore Cameron Fraser (New York, N.Y.), freshman Nick Brown (Cambridge, Mass.), freshman Alex Kasser (Saxtons River, Vt.), freshman Jon Ford (Tampa, Fla.), freshman Henry Palmer (Greensboro, N.C.), sophomore Tom Graves (Cincinnati, Ohio), sophomore Marc Shaughnessy (Andover, Mass.), and junior coxswain George McLean (Fisher’s Island, N.Y.). The Trinity women’s line-up included senior Christine Horton (San Marino, Calif.), senior Rachel Wiese (Avon, Conn.), senior Katherine Jessup (Bethesda, Md.), freshman Sarah Carter (Durham, N.H.), freshman Elizabeth Guernsey (Essex, Conn.), freshman Julie Bergmann (Lexington, Mass.), freshman Hadley Wilmerding (Haverford, Pa.), senior Amanda Gifford (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.), and sophomore coxswain Emily McLean (Fisher’s Island, N.Y.).

The Trinity men’s varsity eight, coached by Steve Fluhr, is ranked No. 4 in the New England Rowing Coaches Poll. The Trinity women’s varsity eight, coached by Lou Obrien-Berl, is also ranked No. 4 in the New England Rowing Coaches Poll and No. 6 in the NCAA Division III National Poll.

Gratry Earns League Honors for Fast-Starting Women’s Lax (7-1, 2-1)

The Trinity College women’s lacrosse team opened the 2003 season with a 15-6 win against Eastern Connecticut on Mar. 12. The Bantams defeated Springfield, 21-6, on Mar. 17, Wellesley, 19-13, on Mar. 18, Dickinson, 17-2, on Mar. 19, and Franklin and Marshall, 14-11, on Mar. 20 during their annual spring break trip to Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. Trinity downed NESCAC rival Connecticut College, 16-10, on Mar. 26 and edged league foe Tufts, 10-8, on Mar. 29. The Bantams lost at NESCAC rival Amherst on Wed., Apr. 2 by a score of 11-6.

Sophomore attack Beatrice Gratry (Hunting Valley, Ohio) totaled five goals and three assists in the season opener and the first lacrosse game played on Robin L. Sheppard Field. Trinity scored the first three goals of the game in the opening 1:30, including two scores by junior midfielder Betsy Walsh (North Kingstown, R.I.), and led, 5-1 after 10 minutes of play.

Senior middie Elizabeth Miller (Weston, Mass.) had three goals in the first half. The Bantams put the game out of reach with six straight scores over the first 21:29 of the second frame for a total of 10 consecutive Trinity goals. Gratry scored three of the six goals during the stretch for the Bantams.

Miller tied for the team lead with five goals and added one assist, while senior attack Laura Davis (Bethesda, Md.) and freshman middie Kara Takesuye (Chevy Chase, Md.) notched a goal and an assist apiece for the Bantams. Senior co-captain midfielder Katie Bowman (Summit, N.J.) recorded two assists, and junior Alexandra Benjamin (Weston, Mass.) stopped four shots in goal.

Against Springfield, Gratry totaled six goals and two assists, while Benjamin made eight saves, and walsh tallied four goals and one assist. Miller added three goals for the Bantams. Gratry scored a career-high nine goals and added an assist the nextday against Wellesley, as Trinity broke open the game in the second half with nine goals, after leading, 10-8, at intermission. Freshman attack Christine Ryan (Westwood, Mass.) and Bowman scored twice apiece, while Walsh and Davis added a goal and an assist. Benjamin made 10 saves to earn the victory.

Against Franklin and Marshall, which was ranked No. 15 in the nation entering the game, Bowman had a career-high, five goals and Gratry tallied four goals and three assists. Miller notched three scores and walsh chipped in with two goals. Trinity came back from a 6-4 deficit at the half to score 10 times in the second stanza.

Returning to New England, Bowman totaled four goals and two assists in the NESCAC opener against Connecticut College. The Bantams scored three goals in the first minute of the second half to extend its lead from 8-4 to 11-4, and never looked back. Gratry led the way with four goals and added one assist, while Davis, Miller and Walsh each put in a pair of goals. Benjamin made eight saves in goal.

Davis scored the go-ahead goal with 10:58 remaining in the game against Tufts, after Walsh had tied the score at 7-7 on an assist by freshman midfielder Catherine Neil (Longmeadow, Mass.) at the 13:26 mark. Benjamin finished with nine saves, while Davis paced Trinity with three goals, and Gratry notched two goals and two assists.

At Amherst, which was ranked No. 2 in the nation entering the game, the Bantams jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on goals Miller and Gratry before Amherst scored five out of the next six goals to put themselves ahead to stay. Gratry scored three goals with an assist, while sophomore midfielder Bliss Geisel (Gladwynne, Pa.) and Davis tallied two helpers apiece. Benjamin recorded 10 saves.

Trinity, coached by Kara Tierney, is currently tied with Bowdoin and Wesleyan for fourth place in the NESCAC with a 2-1 league record. The Bantams are second in the NESCAC offensively with 14.75 goals per game (118) and third defensively with an 8.38 GAA (67 goals allowed). Gratry leads the NESCAC in scoring with 6.13 ppg (49) and in goals with 4.38 per game (35), and is ninth in assists with 1.75 per game (14). Benjamin is third in the league with an 8.30 GAA in goal. Gratry was named as the NESCAC Player of the Week, after notching 32 goals and 13 assists in the first seven games. Bowman was named to the InsideLacrosse.com honor roll and Gratry graced the Womenslacrosse.com honor roll for their outstanding play in Florida. Gratry was also named to the Womenslacrosse.com honor roll for her outstanding play against Connecticut College and Tufts.

Trinity is currently ranked No. 4 in the NCAA Division III New England Rankings and No. 12 in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National Poll. Trinity will host Wheaton (Mass.) on Apr. 10 and NESCAC rival Williams, undefeated and ranked No. 6 in the nation, on Apr. 12 at noon.

Outdoor Track Competes in Three Meets

The Trinity College men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams opened the season in the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Myrtle beach, S.C. on Mar. 22. The Bantams returned to New England competition and finished third in the men’s meet and fifth in the women’s meet at Connecticut College on Mar. 29. On Apr. 6, the Trinity teams competed in the Springfield/Trinity Invitational at Springfield.

Sophomore Christina Kane (Springfield, Mass.) finished sixth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 2:22.36 at Coastal Carolina, while, junior Kristina DePeau (Stafford, Conn.) finished 10th in the 5,000 meters (20:00.18) and senior Sam Sonn (Attleboro, Mass.) came in seventh in the triple jump (41’02.50”).

Senior Josh Griffis (Templeton, Mass.) won the shot out (13.47 m) and finished fourth in the discus (39.02 m) at Connecticut College. Senior tri-captain Lauren Young (Old Saybrook, Conn.) finished second in the women’s hammer throw (40.48 m).

Kane won the 800- (2:21.99) and the 1,500-meter runs (4:47.72) and classmate James Sullivan (Sterling, Mass.) took first in the 10,000-meter run (33:30.19) in the meet at Springfield. Senior tri-captain Leeann Rheaume (Pittsfield, Mass.) won the 5,000 meters (10:44.33) for the Bantam women, while freshman Chris Orr (Hingham, Mass.) finished second in the 400-meter hurdles (59.32) and fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.33) for the Trinity men. Freshman Kristen Geiger (Canterbury, N.H.) came in second in the 100-meter dash (13.50) and fourth in the 200 meters (28.30), and senior tri-captain Jim Emord (Bridgewater, Mass.) was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:54.25) for the Bantams.

Dolliver and Piantek Snare League Honors for Baseball (8-5, 2-1)

The Trinity College baseball team opened the 2003 season with a 9-4 win and a 14-6 loss against Mount Union on Mar. 15 in the gene Cusic Classic in Cape Coral, Fla. and 4/5-6/2 split against Rowan in Naples, Fla. the next day. The Bantams went on to sweep St. Lawrence, 20/24-4/3, on Mar. 18 in Cape Coral and split with Plymouth State, 7/4-0/5, on Mar. 20 in Fort Myers, Fla. to finish their spring trip at 5-3 and 4-2 in the Cusic Classic. Trinity blanked Coast Guardon the road, 13-0, on Mar. 25, before opening the NESCAC East season 25-7 thumping against Bowdoin at Central Connecticut on Mar. 28. The Bantams defeated Bowdoin, 10-9, in eight innings and lost a 19-5 game in the nightcap of the doubleheader in a darkness-shortened, six inning game on Mar. 29. Trinity dropped a 14-12 decision against Worcester Tech in its home opener on Mar. 31.

Senior co-captain Jayme Dorr (Osterville, Mass.) hit a home run in each game of a double header against Mount Union. Junior right hander Kevin Tidmarsh (Meriden, Conn.) scattered eight hits to give Trinity a win in the first game, while senior co-captain Kurt Piantek (Wallingford, Conn.) blasted a bomb on his first swing of the season. Junior Eric Shattenkirk (New Rochelle, N.Y.) ripped the game-winning double to plate two Bantams in the sixth inning. In the second game, sophomore Aaron Goldstein (Edina, Minn.) was 3-for-4, including his first home run of the season in a losing effort.

Sophomore right-hander Joe Westcott (Holyoke, Mass.) allowed seven hits and four runs over six innings in his collegiate debut against Rowan in the second game of the twinbill. Senior righty Craig Tredenick (Cornwall, Prince Edward Island) earned his first career save, pitching a scoreless seventh inning, and sophomore Andrew Fries (Dublin, Ohio) belted his first home run of the season. Sophomore right-hander hurler Mark Tremblay (Manchester, N.H.) took the loss in the early game.

Dorr and Piantek combined for 14 hits and 10 RBI between them in the sweep of St. Lawrence. In the opening game, sophomore right-hander Chris Rodday (Concord, Mass.) earned his first victory of the season by going five innings and scattering five hits, and senior Rob Dolliver (Norwich, Conn.) hit his second homer of the season and had four RBI. Dorr and Piantek were both 3-for-4 at the plate.

In the nightcap, freshman southpaw Matt Krant (Portsmouth, N.H.) went four innings to earn his first collegiate victory, while junior Angel Resto (Framingham, Mass.) smashed a pair of home runs. Piantek went 5-for-5 at the plate, while sophomore Jeff Natale (Hamden, Conn.) was 4-for-5 at the plate in his first game of the season. Dorr was three for four, and hit his team-leading, third long ball of the spring.

Tidmarsh tossed a seven inning, shutout in the first game of the double header against Plymouth State, fanning eight batters and surrendered four hits, while Resto blasted his third home run of the season. Dorr had two hits in the losing effort in the second game.

Natale had three hits in the shutout at Coast Guard, while Westcott combined with six other Trinity hurlers to allow five hits and no runs over nine innings. Trinity pounded 16 hits and took advantage of six Bear fielding miscues.

In the home opener against Worcester Tech, Dolliver hit for the cycle and drove in five runs to lead the Trinity offensive effort, but a five run fourth inning for the fourth frame gave Worcester Tech the lead for good at 9-6. Piantek had three hits.

Trinity, coached by Bill Decker, is currently in second place in the NESCAC East with a 2-1 division record. Trinity leads the NESCAC in hitting with a .368 batting average and is second defensively with a .958 fielding percentage. The Bantams have more than twice as many homers than any other NESCAC team with 23. Piantek leads the NESCAC in hitting with a .553 batting average (26-for-47), hits with 26, and total bases with 44. He is also tied with Dorr for the league lead in homers with five and is third in RBI with 21. Dorr is eighth in the NESCAC in hitting with a .420 batting average (21-for-50), second in doubles with six, third in runs with 21, and third in total bases with 42. Tidmarsh is ninth in the NESCAC in earned run average at 2.84 to go with his 3-0 record and is second in the league in strikeouts with 20. Dolliver is fourth in the NESCAC in RBI with 19 and Resto is third in homers with four. Piantek was named as the NESCAC Player of the Week, after pounding 23 hits in his first 41 at-bats with three doubles, five home runs, 17 runs, and 20 RBI. Dolliver followed as the NESCAC’s second Player of the Week for his outstanding game against Worcester Tech.

Trinity is currently ranked No. 6 in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) New England Rankings and No. 7 in the New England College Baseball Coaches (NECBA) Poll. Trinity will host Western Connecticut on Apr. 8 at 3:30 p.m. and NESCAC East rival Colby on Apr. 11 at 3:30 p.m. The Bantams will entertain Colby in a doubleheader on Apr. 12 at noon to complete the three game series.

Skiff Ties Point Record, Earns League Honors for Men’s Lax (4-4, 2-3)

The Trinity College men’s lacrosse team opened the season with a 9-2 triumph over NESCAC rival Bates on Mar. 15. The Bantams downed Roger Williams, 13-3, on Mar. 17 in New Port Richey, Fla., but dropped a 15-9 decision against Amherst at the same site on Mar. 20. Trinity closed the spring break schedule with a 16-6 loss at Salisbury on Mar. 22. The Bantams lost, 10-7, at NESCAC rival Connecticut College on Mar. 26 and, 8-5, at league foe Tufts on Mar. 29. Trinity rebounded with a 9-8, overtime triumph against Eastern Connecticut on Apr. 2 and an 18-13 win over NESCAC rival Colby on Apr. 5.

Against Bates, which was ranked No. 10 in New England entering the game, junior attackman James Skiff (Portland, Maine) tallied three goals and an assist, as Trinity scored the only two goals of the first quarter and three out of four in the second to take a 6-1 lead at the half. Senior tri-captain attackman Ravi Pillay (Falls Church, Va.) netted both of his goals in the opening stanza, and freshman midfielder Coly Smith (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) scored his first career goal with 11:27 left in the second frame. Pillay finished with two goals and two assists, while Smith had two goals and an assist, and senior tri-captain midfielder Erik Mazmanian (Newton, Mass.) and freshman middie Chad Burdette (Owings Mills, Md.) each notched his first career goal and added an assist for the Bantams. Junior Geoff Shaw (Charlotte, N.C.) made 15 stops in goal for Trinity.

Skiff scored three goals for the second straight game against Roger Williams, and nine different Bantams found the back of the net in an easy win. Pillay and Smith tallied two goals and an assist each, while junior defenseman Tony Alexandre (Bernardsville, N.J.) dished out a pair of helpers for the Bantams. Shaw and freshman Jakob Isbrandsten (Greenwich, Conn.) combined for 13 saves in goal and the Bantams outhustled Roger Williams for 73 ground balls. Junior face-off specialist Jamie Creed (Valley Forge, Pa.) picked up 10 ground balls and classmate Will Peace (Chestertown, Md.) nabbed a team-high 12.

After the loss to Amherst, which was ranked No. 3 in New England and No. 24 in the nation entering the game, Pillay and Smith led Trinity with one goal and one assist apiece in a losing effort at Salisbury, which was ranked No. 2 in the nation entering the game. Shaw registered 11 saves.

At Connecticut College, Skiff, sophomore midfielder Jake Dore (Manchester, Mass.), and Pillay each netted two scores, and Shaw had 11 saves. Trinity outshot the Camels, 28-20. Pillay had two goals at Tufts, and Shaw again tallied 11 saves.

Skiff scored the game-tying and game-winning goals against Eastern Connecticut, which was ranked No. 4 in New England and No. 21 in the nation entering the game. Trinity trailed, 5-1, at the half and 6-3 with one quarter to play before notching five goals in the fourth frame. Pillay gave Trinity its first lead at 7-6 and Skiff netted his third goal of the game with :55 on the clock to force the extra period. Midway through the overtime, Skiff scored the clincher on an assist from Mazmanian. Pillay and Smith scored two goal apiece and Pillay added an assist, while junior attackman Sandy Leighton (Blue Bell, Pa.) scored one goal and assisted on a second score. Shaw tallied 14 in a solid goalkeeping effort.

Against Colby, ranked No. 7 in New England entering the game, Skiff tied the College record with 11 points on eight goals and three assists. Trinity led, 6-1, early in the second quarter but Colby found the net four unanswered times to close the first half tied at 7-7. With the Bantams ahead, 9-8, midway through the third quarter, Skiff scored three more goals with a fourth by freshman midfielder Chad Burdette (Owings Mills, Md.) sandwiched among them to give Trinity a 13-8 lead. Skiff netted his career-high eighth goal of the contest with 47 seconds on the clock. Shaw earned the win in goal with 10 saves, while Pillay finished with four goals and three assists, Leighton dished out three assists, and Burdette tallied three scores for the Bantams.

Trinity, coached by Brian Silcott, is currently in seventh place in the NESCAC with a 2-3 league record. Skiff is fourth in the NESCAC in goals with 2.75 per game (22) and fifth in points with 3.38 per game (27), while Pillay is 10th in the league in both points at 3.00 per game (24) and goals with 2.13 per game (17). Skiff was named as the NESCAC Player of the Week, after totaling 12 goals and three assists against Eastern Connecticut and Colby. Shaw was named to the NESCAC honor roll for totaling 68 saves in the first six games while holding three out of Trinity’s six opponents to eight points or less.

Trinity is currently ranked No. 9 in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Rankings and No. 27 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) National Poll. The Bantams will host Babson on Apr. 8 at 4:30 p.m. and NESCAC rival Williams on Apr. 12 at 2 p.m.

Softball Begins First Season Under Coach Luz (3-11-1, 0-2)

The Trinity College softball team opened the season on Mar. 16 with losses to Benedictine (Ill.), 3-1, and Fontbonne, 11-0, in the Gene Cusic Classic in Cape Coral, Fla. The Bantams won the , 9-0, against Fisher on Mar. 17, lost to Keene State, 8-0, on Mar. 18, and downed Mass.-Boston, 10-6, on Mar. 18. On Mar. 19, Trinity defeated Skidmore, 11-3, in its last game in Cape Coral. The Bantams tied Skidmore, 6-6, and lost to Lasell, 10-2, on Mar. 21 in Fort Myers, Fla., before falling to Grinnell, 7-0, and New England College, 5-0, in Fort Myers on Mar. 22 to finish the Cusic Classic at 3-6-1. The Bantams lost at Smith, 8-0, on Mar. 27 and were swept in their NESCAC East opening doubleheader, 8/5-0/1, against Tufts on Mar. 29. Trinity lost at Clark, 9-4, on Apr. 1 and, 12-3, against Coast Guard on Apr. 3.

In the season opener against Benedictine, freshman hurler Victoria Moshier (Old Saybrook, Conn.) allowed no runs and three hits over the first six innings but took the loss on the mound in her collegiate debut. She gave four runs in the fourth inning and five in the fifth to fall to 0-2 against Fontbonne.

Senior Susan Kelly (Milford, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI against Fisher for the first career win by rookie Head Coach Caitlin Luz (Woburn, Mass.). Moshier and fellow freshman Sarah Churchill (Danvers, Mass.) combined on a no-hit shutout on the mound. Moshier started the game and struck out five in two innings, before yielding to Churchill who fanned four batters over three innings to earn her first collegiate victory.

After the loss to Keene State, freshman Amy Corvino (Florham Park, N.J.) tripled with the bases loaded to highlight a four-run, fourth inning in the win against Mass.-Boston, finishing the with four RBI. Churchill went the distance on the mound to win her second game in two days.

Freshman Alexandra Costello (Andover, Mass.) went 3-for-4 with a triple in the triumph against Skidmore. Churchill recorded her third victory on the mound in three days, allowing five hits in five innings. Trinity capitalized on four Skidmore errors.

The nextday against Skidmore, Corvino had two hits, while Moshier and Churchill allowed eight hits over eight innings but were hurt by three Bantam errors. Trinity scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to force the extra innings, gave up two runs in the top of the eighth frame, and scored two more in the bottom half of the eighth before the game was called. Lasell touched Churchill for eight runs in the first inning to hand the freshman her first loss in four decisions in the nightcap.

After the loss to Grinnell, Churchill threw five innings of scoreless relief against New England College, but Trinity could not rally back from a 5-0 deficit. Sophomore catcher Sarah Hoyle (Ansonia, Conn.) had thrown out five potential basestealers in the Grinnell game.

Against Tufts in the home and NESCAC East opener, freshman Lauren Moyer (Bedford, N.H.) doubled home Moshier to give Trinity a 1-0 lead. Moshier also held the Jumbos scoreless for five innings before two doubles and a walk in the sixth resulted in two runs for the visitors. Tufts scored five runs in the first frame and three in the fifth despite just six hits off Churchill in the second game.

At Clark, Kelly paced the Bantam offense with a double and two RBI, and Churchill took the loss on the mound. Against Coast Guard, Kelly ripped a line drive double into the right center gap, and later scored to tie the game in the third inning. Trinity took the lead an inning later, using a walk to Kelly, base hits by sophomore Marion Protano (Manalapan, N.J.) and senior Melissa Meza (El Paso, Texas), and a double by senior co-captain Laura Heath (Windsor, Conn.) to take a 3-1 lead before a five run fifth frame prevented Trinity from winning its first game in New England.

Trinity is currently in fifth place in the NESCAC East with an 0-2 division record. Heath is eighth in the NESCAC in hitting with a .395 batting average (17-for-43) and third in steals with five (five attempts). Costello is third in the league in triples with two and Churchill is fourth in strikeouts with 26 on the mound. Heath was named to the NESCAC honor roll for averaging .405 in her first 13 games (15-for-37) with seven runs and five steals in five attempts.

Women’s Tennis Limited To One Match in South Carolina (5-3)

The Trinity College women’s tennis managed to play just one match during its spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., downing Division I SE Missouri State, 5-4, on Mar. 20.

Senior Aimee Hecht (Aspen, Colo.) pulled out an 8-6 win in her first match of the season at the No. 6 singles position to give Trinity the win.

Sophomore Diana Dreyfus (Scarsdale, N.Y.) leads Trinity with a 7-4 singles record, while junior Diana Goldman (Milton, Mass.) is 9-6. In doubles, Goldman and senior co-captain Karen Huebner (Burlington, Mass.) have combined for a 9-3 mark.
