Trinity's Foresi Returns to NCAA

HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 26 -- The Trinity College wrestling team, which posted a 12-13 dual match record and finished fifth in the New England College Conference Wrestling Association (NECCWA) Championships two weeks ago, will send junior Mark Foresi (West Springfield, Mass.) to the NCAA Division III National Championships this weekend in Scranton, Pa. The Championships will be hosted this season by the University of Scranton and King’s College and held at the First Union Arena. Matches will begin Friday, Mar. 1 and continue through Saturday, Mar. 2.

Foresi, who earned All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in the 141-pound weight class last season, qualified this season as a wild card entry. Foresi finished second at 141 pounds at the NECCWA Championships, losing by a score of 6-5 in the final match. Foresi, who has a 22-8 record this season with four pins and a College record 67-22 career mark, won three matches at the National Championships in 2000-01. He was also selected as a wild-card to the National Championships as a freshman in 1999-00, winning one out of three matches.
