Hires Busniuk as Head Women's Ice Hockey Coach |
HARTFORD, Conn., May 16 -- Trinity College has hired Kate Busniuk (West Hartford, Conn.) as head women’s ice hockey coach. The Bantams had a 1-19-3 overall record and a 1-16-1 mark in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).
Busniuk served as the co-head coach of the City of West Hartford High Schools team last season. Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Busniuk played an active role in promoting and organizing women’s ice hockey camps throughout the Northwestern Ontario area since 1997. Her father, Mike Busniuk, is an assistant coach for the Hartford Wolfpack American Hockey League (AHL) franchise.
Busniuk attended Northeastern University and earned her degree in recreation and leisure from Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario in 2000. At Northeastern, she was a member of the Huskies 1997 ECAC Championship women’s ice hockey squad. Prior to moving to the United States, Busniuk played for two Provincial winning teams in Ontario.
