Named Trinity Senior Female Scholar Athlete of the Year |
Hartford, Conn., May 2 -Senior women’s basketball captain Jackie Siscone (Hammonton, N.J.) was awarded the Trinity College 2000-01 Martin Award as the College’s top senior female scholar athlete.
The 2000-01 Bantam women’s basketball team, coached by Maureen Pine, posted a 7-15 record. Siscone was the only player to start all 24 games for the Bantams in 2000-01 and led the team in assists with 4.9 per game, three-point shooting at 35.0 percent (55-157), and free throw shooting at 79.4 (27-34). She was also third on the team in scoring with 9.6 ppg, and averaged 2.9 rebounds per contest.
Siscone, who transferred to Trinity from Colgate in the fall of 1999, also helped the Bantams to a College-record with a 22-5 record and its first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship title in her first season. She set a College record for three-pointers in a game with nine in a win over Middlebury in 1999-00. She is second on the College’s all-time list in three-point field goals and attempts (119-340, 35.0%)
Siscone is also a two-time NESCAC All-Academic selection, currently holding a 4.0 grade-point average as an English major. A graduate of Hammonton High School, she is the daughter of Tony and Margi Siscone.
