The Trinity softball squad, coached by Tami Hyde (2nd season, 14-44), had a 7-22 overall record and a 3-5 mark in the NESCAC East Division, failing to qualify for the NESCAC Championship Tournament.
Heath, a second team All-NESCAC selection last season, started all 29 games at shortstop after two years as Trinity’s starting centerfielder, and batted .341 (29-for-85) with team-highs of 13 runs, seven doubles, 13 RBI, and 19 stolen bases (in 19 attempts).
Hunter made the All-NESCAC Second Team as a pitcher after appearing in a team-high 14 games (nine starts) on the mound with a 4-6 record. Hunter led Trinity in complete games (8), shutouts (2), innings pitched (71.1), and set a new Bantam season record with 87 strikeouts. She tossed a nine-inning, no-hitter against Amherst, and added 10 hits, three doubles, and six RBI with the bat.
