Markelz Qualifies For Nationals With Career-Best Time Trinity College

HARTFORD, Conn., Nov. 17 - Junior Todd Markelz (Homer, AK) finished 14th at the NCAA Division III New England Championships with a career-best time of 25:07 on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

Markelz' performance qualified him for the 1999 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

The Trinity cross country teams, coached by George Suitor, have sent runners to the Nationals Championships for four consecutive seasons. This will be Markelz's first trip to Nationals.
