Kennedy Earns All-New England First Team for Trinity Men's Lax Trinity College

HARTFORD, Conn., June 14 - Trinity College men's lacrosse senior defenseman Robb Kennedy (Darien, CT) has been named to the 2000 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III All-New England First Team, the New England Small College Athletic Conference All-NESCAC First Team, and the All-Snively League First Team.

Junior midfielder Mark Tassie (Hopewell, NJ) made the Division III All-New England Honorable Mention, as well as the All-NESCAC and Snively League First Teams.

Several other Bantam lacrosse players also earned post-season accolades. Senior midfielder Andy Hayes (Philadelphia, PA) was a second team All-NESCAC and second team All-Snively League selection, senior tri-captain attackman Bobby Souers (Montgomery Village, MD) was a second team All-NESCAC and an honorable mention All-Snively League selection. Senior tri-captain goalkeeper Matt Jerry (Acton, MA) and senior attackman Alex Ullman (North Haven, CT) were both honorable mention All-Snively League picks as well. In addition, Souers and Kennedy played in the NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game on May 14 at Bryant College.

The Bantams, coached by Mike Darr (first season), posted a 9-5 record overall and 6-3 in the NESCAC, earning a bid to the ECAC Division III New England Championship Tournament.

Kennedy started all 14 games, recording 29 ground balls, one goal, and three assists. Tassie started nine of 11 games at midfield, totaling 21 goals and 15 assists. Hayes, Souers, and Ullman each started all 14 games. Hayes had 27 goals and seven assists; Souers led the team in goals with 37 and assists with 20; Ullman notched 18 goals and 13 assists. Jerry started all 14 games, recording 202 saves for a 10.05 goals against average and a .601 save percentage.
