Trinity's Darr and Decker Win Coach of the Year Awards Trinity College

HARTFORD, Conn., June 14 -- Trinity College Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Mike Darr (Harrisburg, PA) and Head Baseball Coach Bill Decker (Greenfield, MA) have both been named as 2000 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Coach of the Year in their respective sports. Darr also was chosen as the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Coach of the Year.

Darr led Trinity to a 9-5 final record, including a 6-3 records in the NESCAC and a bid to the ECAC Division III New England Championship Tournament. Decker led the baseball squad to a 22-9 record and a third consecutive bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Trinity defeated Suffolk, 2-14, in the first round but fell, 12-5, against Southern Maine and, 7-6, against Suffolk in the two rounds.

Darr has led Trinity to a 140-130 record in his 22 seasons, including eight postseason bids. Decker is 180-110 in his 10 seasons, including three ECAC Division III New England Championship bids and NCAA bids in the past three seasons.
