Trinity's Faulkner and Greason Earn 
Awards By New England Hockey Writers

Hartford, Conn., Apr. 3 - Trinity College senior co-captain forward Matt Greason (North Bridgton, Maine) and senior goaltender Geoff Faulkner (Westerville, Ohio) were each selected to the 2002 New England Hockey Writers Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East/New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Star Team.

Trinity, coached by John Dunham, finished the 2001-02 season with a 17-8-1 overall record and posted a 13-5-1 mark in the league, which was tied for the third-best in the conference. The Bantams advanced to their first NESCAC Championship Tournament final, dropping a 3-2 decision at Middlebury.

Faulkner, a second team All-NESCAC performer in 2000-01 and 2001-02, logged 1,397 minutes in goal this season, totaling 575 saves for a .927 save percentage and a 1.93 GAA. His totals, both of which were the new Trinity single-season records, placed him first in the NESCAC in save percentage, and second in the league in GAA. He was named the NESCAC Player of the Week once this season. Faulkner finishes his career with 69 games in net, 4,121 minutes played (3rd all-time), 1,852 saves (4th all-time), five shutouts (T2nd all-time), a .907 save percentage (new Trinity career record), and a 2.77 GAA (new Trinity record).

Greason, a first team All-NESCAC selection and a second team All-NESCAC selection last season, played in 24 games at forward and leads Trinity in scoring with 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points. With 40 goals and 51 assists, Greason has amassed a total of 91 points in his Bantam career. One of the team’s co-captains this season, Greason earned NESCAC Player of the Week once during the season.
