Massachusetts
Hartford, Conn., July 25 - Eight Massachusetts student-athletes were awarded varsity letters as members of the 1999-00 Trinity College women's and men's basketball teams. The women's basketball team, coached by Maureen Pine, finished the season with a 22-5 overall record and a 7-2 mark in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), and captured its first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship title. The men's team, coached by Stan Ogrodnik, finished 14-8 overall and 3-6 in the NESCAC.
Senior co-captain forward Caitlin Luz (Woburn, MA) received a Gold Award for having earned four varsity letters in her Bantam basketball career, while senior co-captain forward Rory Neal (Springfield, MA) and junior guard Mike Keohane (Belmont, MA) each received a Blue Award for earning three varsity letters for the men's basketball squad.
Junior center Julian Bah (Concord, MA), sophomore guards Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, MA) and Kristin Heil (Beverly, MA), sophomore forward Angela Iandoli (Worcester, MA) and freshman center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, MA) also earned varsity letters for the Trinity basketball squads.
New Jersey
