Hartford, Conn., Apr. 9 – Trinity College men’s basketball senior tri-captain swingman Colin Tabb (Somers, Conn.) was selected to play in the New England Basketball Coaches Division III North/South All-Star Game on Wed., Apr. 10 on the campus of the College of the Holy Cross at 6 p.m. Tabb is one of 16 members of the South team, which also includes players from New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rivals Bates, Colby, Connecticut College, and Wesleyan. |

The Trinity men, coached by Stan Ogrodnik, posted a 19-6 overall record and an 8-1 record in the NESCAC to finish atop the league for the second straight season. The Bantams lost to Amherst in the NESCAC Championship finals, 85-78, but still qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the fourth time. Trinity advanced to the second round with a 75-47 win over Colby-Sawyer, but lost, 80-61, at Brockport State in the second round.
Tabb was named as the NESCAC Player of the Year and to the All-NESCAC First Team, as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Player of the Year and to its All-Star First Team, the d3hoops.com All-Northeast Region First Team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)/Pontiac All-American First Team, the DIII News All-American Second Team, and the d3hoops.com All-American Fourth Team this season.
Tabb, who started all 25 games at guard, led the NESCAC in scoring (24.8 ppg) and finished among the league leaders in several categories. He was fourth in the league in assists with 4.2 per game, and seventh in rebounding at 7.4 per game. Tabb was also the top free throw shooter in the NESCAC, and among the best in the nation, with an 86.8 percentage (171-197) from the charity stripe.
Also an All-NESCAC First Team, All-ECAC Division III New England First Team, and an NABC All-Northeast Region Second Team selection last season, Tabb was named as the NESCAC Player of the Week twice this season. He was also selected to the all-tournament squad at the Rutgers-Newark Tip-Off Tournament.
