Trinity Hires

Hartford, Conn., July 25 - Julia Bergofsky (Exeter, N.H.), a 2002 graduate of Middlebury College, has been hired as an assistant coach for the Trinity College field hockey and women’s lacrosse teams. The Trinity field hockey team, coached by Anne Parmenter (2nd season), recorded a 6-8 record in 2001 to finish eighth in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The Trinity women’s lacrosse squad, coached by Kara Tierney (4th season, 19-23), had an 8-7 overall record and a 3-6 mark in the league, which qualified them for a first-ever NESCAC Championship Tournament appearance. The Bantams lost at Amherst, 11-6, in the first round.
Bergofsky earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Middlebury, where she was a four-year letterwinner in field hockey and lacrosse. Bergofsky was captain of both teams, a two-time All-American in both sports, and helped Middlebury win national championship lacrosse titles in 1999, 2001, and 2002 and a field hockey national title in 1998. She was the Division III Midfielder of the Year in 2001 and in 2002 in lacrosse.
