| Trinity Hosts Banquet to Honor Robin Sheppard |
HARTFORD, Conn., April 7- Legendary Trinity College field hockey and women's lacrosse coach Robin Sheppard (Bridgeton, NJ) will be honored by the College at a banquet this weekend.
The banquet will be held on Saturday, Apr. 8 at 8 p.m. in the Washington Room on the Trinity campus. The banquet is part of the Women's Field Hockey and Lacrosse Celebration weekend on Apr. 7 and 8, which features a roadrace at 10 am on Saturday, Apr. 8 and alumni field hockey and lacrosse games at 12:30 p.m.
Sheppard, the winningest field hockey coach and the only women's lacrosse coach in Trinity College history, retired from coaching following the 1998-99 season to accept her present position as associate athletic director at Trinity.
In her 25 years in coaching, Sheppard compiled a 242-67-13 career field hockey record, and a 203-63-5 career lacrosse mark. Sheppard's winning percentage was a combined .774 and her teams captured eight Northeast Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC) titles and an Eastern College Athletic Conference field hockey title in 1992. Sheppard also guided Trinity to seven NCAA Championship Tournaments, including Final Four appearances in field hockey in 1993 and 1998.
