2001-02 Trinity Club of Hartford award winner Beth Landry

Landry, a four-year varsity letterwinner in volleyball, started all 30 matches this fall and was the only Bantam to appear in all 109 games. She led the team in blocks with 86 (18 solo + 68 assisted), and was second in both aces with 57 and kill percentage at .259. Landry was also third on the Bantams in kills with 297 and third in digs with 257. She was selected to play in the New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior All-Star Game, and was an All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) second team selection in 1999 and 2000. One of the premier middle hitters in the NESCAC throughout her career and a phenomenal defensive player, Landry is a graduate of Lahser High School.

The Trinity volleyball squad, coached by Angela Mills (1st season) posted a 14-16 overall record and a 5-5 league mark. The Bantams qualified for the NESCAC Championship Tournament as the No. 7 seed, but lost their quarterfinal match against Williams, 3-0

In track and field, Landry has earned four varsity letters in the outdoor season and three during the indoor campaign. She has qualified for the NESCAC, Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and NCAA Division III New England Championships each year, and earned All-NESCAC and All-New England honors in the jumps (2nd in New England in triple jump in 2000). Landry currently holds the College’s all-time triple jump mark with a distance of 36’08.50”.

The 2001-02 Trinity women’s indoor track and field team, coached by George Suitor, finished 14th out of 26 teams at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships. The 2002 Bantam women’s outdoor track and field squad, also coached by Suitor, finished 10th out of 11 teams at the NESCAC Championships this past weekend.

Seeking a change in her routine and a new athletic challenge, Landry elected to try out for basketball in her senior year. Despite a three-year lay-off from the game, Landry emerged as an integral front court reserve forward for the Bantams, averaging 2.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per contests in 16 games.

Trinity, coached by Maureen Pine, posted a 12-12 overall record and a 5-4 mark in the NESCAC, qualifying for its first-ever NESCAC Championship Tournament. The Bantams lost at Bates, 77-59, in the opening round.
