Trinity, coached by Sebby Amato (17th season), has qualified wrestlers for Nationals in 10 of the last 12 seasons including the last four.
Blair qualified for the National Championships automatically with his outstanding performance in the New England NECCWA Championships. He won six out of seven matches over two days and pinned his final two opponents to earn the title. Blair finished with the best record on the Trinity squad at 27-2 this season, and had eight pins. He finished the regular season as the No. 1 heavyweight in New England and No. 7 in the nation.
Blair was named the 2002-03 NECCWA Rookie Wrestler of the Year, after earning the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Rookie Defensive Player of the Year award this fall. He was an outstanding defensive lineman for the Bantam football squad, which were NESCAC Co-Champions 2002.
