Helal Named as Trinity Junior Female Scholar Athlete of the Year |

Hartford, Conn., July 18 - Trinity women’s squash junior co-captain Amina Helal (Manchester, England) was selected as the recipient of the 2002-03 Board of Fellows Award as the College’s Outstanding Junior Female Scholar Athlete. |

The Bantam women’s squash team, coached by Wendy Bartlett (19th season) finished the 2002-03 season with a best ever, 14-0 record. Trinity won its second consecutive College Squash Association (CSA) Women’s Team Championship (Howe Cup) and extended its winning streak to 26 straight matches dating back to 2001.
Helal posted a 14-2 record this season playing at the No. 1 position, and won both the mid-season Constable Tournament title and the CSA Individual Championship title for the second straight year. Also a two-time NESCAC All-Academic selection and a three-time All-American, Helal holds a 49-5 career mark. A graduate of the Phillips School in England, Helal maintains a 3.75 grade-point average as a French and German major at Trinity.
