Trinity Squash Teams To Be
Honored at State Capitol Friday

Hartford, Conn., Apr. 23 – The Trinity College men’s and women’s squash teams, both of which won national intercollegiate championships this season, will be honored by the State of Connecticut and Governor John Rowland on Friday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at the State Capitol in Hartford.

The Trinity men, coached by Paul Assaiante, posted their fifth consecutive undefeated season at 19-0 and a fifth straight Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) Team Championship (Potter Trophy) title.  The Bantams have won 90 matches in a row dating back to the 1997-98 season.

The Bantam women, coached by Wendy Bartlett, posted a perfect and best ever, 14-0 overall record and captured their second straight Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) Team Championship (Howe Cup) title.  Trinity junior co-captain Amina Helal (Manchester, England) won her second consecutive CSA individual championship this season as well.  The Bantams have won 26 consecutive matches in a row dating back to the 2000-01 season.
