Trinity's Carillo Named 
to All-American Football Team

Hartford, Conn., Jan. 6 - Trinity College junior tackle Jared Carillo (Windsor, Conn.) was selected to the d3football.com 2002 All-American Honorable Mention Football Team. The Bantam football squad, coached by Chuck Priore (3rd season, 15-9), posted its best record since 1996 at 7-1 to tie Williams for the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship title this fall. Trinity finished as the No. 6-ranked team in the New England Division III Poll.

Jared Carillo

Carillo, who started all eight games on the offensive line for Coach Priore, anchored an offensive line that helped the Trinity ball carriers average 184.2 yards per game (1,474 yards) and 4.2 yards per carry. Also, the Trinity line surrendered a league-low, four sacks with Carillo protecting the back side of the Bantam quarterbacks. Carillo is a two-year starter, an All-NESCAC First Team selection, and a second team all-league selection last season. A graduate of Suffield Academy, the 6-foot-5, 305-pound Carillo is majoring in sociology at Trinity. He is the son of Linda and David Carillo.
