Trinity College

When students arrive for their first year at Trinity, they are at an important juncture in their lives. They already have distinguished themselves in high school and now are poised to take their first steps on a very different journey. Academics will be at the heart of this four-year experience. Many aspects of residential life‹living on campus, participating in student organizations and intercollegiate athletics, taking advantage of all that the city of Hartford has to offer‹will not only complement the academic work, but enhance it.

At Trinity, we believe that students in college want and need to have many options available to them, both in and out of the classroom. The flexibility and breadth of our curriculum are well matched by the diversity of campus life. Students learn a lot about themselves, their interests and talents through participation in campus activities. Often, extracurricular involvements dovetail nicely with the academic work. And many students find that having success in a sport or serving as president of a club gives them more confidence in everything else they do.

The campus is a lively, stimulating place where students engage in discussion, in performance, in athletics and in service. There's plenty to do here because Trinity is a real community and not a suitcase college. Nationally known speakers, public figures, performers, poets and musicians come to campus throughout the year. And there are more than 70 official student organizations to suit all interests, ranging from print and on-line publications and musical ensembles to political and religious organizations, from community service to ultimate Frisbee.

When students seek a different environment or just a change, the Hartford area is rich with opportunities for cultural forays, socializing, entertainment, dining, shopping, and indoor and outdoor recreational pursuits. For many students, the diversity, energy and resources offered by this active capital city are a vital part of their Trinity education. And it's all close by. Even though the campus feels and looks like it's in the country, you can see the Hartford skyline from the Quad.

Come and see for yourself: spend some time on our beautiful campus and talk to our students. You'll get a clearer picture of all that there is for you here and all that our capital city location affords in terms of opportunities. Being on campus will give you a good feeling about whether Trinity is the right place for you. Best of luck in your college search (and may it end at Trinity).
