Janet Bailey Faude - Vice President for
 Development and Alumni Programs


Janet Bailey Faude joined Trinity's senior staff in 1999. As vice president for development and alumni programs, she is charged with leading Trinity College's fundraising efforts and overseeing the College's alumni relations. She oversees a staff dedicated to raising $25 million or more annually from alumni, non-alumni friends of the College, corporations, and foundations in support of Trinity's academic mission, its strategic priorities, its ongoing operations, and its objectives for endowment growth.   In addition, she brings vision and leadership to alumni relations at Trinity in order, among other things, to strengthen programs for alumni, expand volunteer service, and enhance the College's profile nationally.

Faude has a demonstrated record of achievement in higher education, business and finance, and community service. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Faude earned an M.Ed. degree, with a concentration in administration, planning and social policy, from Harvard. Her professional career began with positions in higher education, including posts with the Massachusetts Board of Regents of Higher Education, the Board of Higher Education, and the Secretary of Educational Affairs Office. In the private sector, she rose to vice president at Fleet Bank after having held positions in human resources and commercial banking at Fleet and its predecessors.

Before coming to Trinity, Faude worked with Aetna Retirement Services, where she was a leader in the design and implementation of that company's emerging strategies in financial services. She served there as president of Aetna Insurance Agency, Inc. and career agent relations manager. Faude is president of the Connecticut Valley Girl Scout Council and is chair of its finance committee. She also is on the women executives committee of the Hartford Chamber of Commerce and is a past member of the executive committee and former treasurer of the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
