Awards and Honors

Laura DaRos, program coordinator for student activities, won the Region 1 (New England) M. Kevin Fahey Graduate Assistant Award at the National Association of Campus Activities conference. The award is given to a graduate student who has made significant contributions to his or her institution and who serves as a role model for student leaders on campus.

“Nerves of the Heart,” the fifth novel by Writer-in-Residence Lucy Ferriss, was nominated for a 2003 Connecticut Book Award. The awards, now in their second year, are presented in seven categories by the Connecticut Center for the Book at Hartford Public Library.

Barbara Henriques, visiting assistant professor and acting director of educational studies, was honored for her service by the Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance at its 13th annual Neighborhood Service Awards ceremony. Henriques was recognized for her advocacy work on behalf of several educational programs in the city. She was also praised for assisting with The Saturday Academy, a ten-week academic enrichment program for seventh and eighth graders on Trinity’s campus.
