Faculty and Staff Awards & Honors
Sandra Andrews,
administrative assistant, Shelby Cullom Davis Endowment, has been
awarded the Kent-Arnoff Service Award by the Association of Private
Enterprise in recognition of more than a decade of excellent work in
preparing The Journal of Private Enterprise. Andrews is only
the third non-faculty member to receive this annual award in 15 years.
The award is given in recognition “of the simple fact that the burdens
of all with the organization are shouldered by only a few.”
Kathleen Curran, associate professor of fine arts, has won the
2005 Henry Russell Hitchcock Book Award for her book, The
Romanesque Revival: Religion, Politics, and Transnational Exchange.
The Hitchcock Award, presented annually by the Victorian Society in
America, recognizes books whose topics are “centered on architecture
or the decorative arts …” Professor Curran has also won a National
Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipend Award for this summer. The
topic of her research project is “Craft and Culture on Display: The
American Art Museum, 1870-1940.”
