College Announces Faculty Promotions
The Board of Trustees has approved the recommendations of the Joint Appointments and Promotions Committee for the following promotions to Professor: David Cruz-Uribe, Department of Mathematics; Ronald Kiener, Department of Religion; Mark Setterfield, Department of Economics; and James Trostle, Department of Anthropology. The promotions are effective July 1, 2005.

David Cruz-Uribe
earned a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in
1993. His areas of scholarly interest include classical harmonic
analysis, particularly the study of weighted norm inequalities and
the structure of the associated weight classes. Professor Cruz-Uribe
joined the Trinity faculty in 1996. |

Ron Kiener earned a
Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. His areas of
scholarly interest include medieval Jewish mysticism and
intellectual history, Islamic Studies, and contemporary religious
movements in the Middle East. Professor Kiener joined the Trinity
faculty in 1983. |

Mark Setterfield
earned a Ph.D. from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, in
1992. His areas of scholarly interest include macrodynamics (with
a particular focus on concepts of path dependence) and
Post-Keynesian economics. Professor Setterfield joined the Trinity
faculty in 1992. |

Jim Trostle earned a
Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco and
Berkeley, in 1987. His areas of scholarly interest include medical
anthropology, global public health, and the use of research in
policymaking. Professor Trostle joined the Trinity faculty in
1998. |
