It was Malcolm X who noted that “Education is the passport
to our future”. It is clear that Rachel Walden’96 stridently
agrees with, and carries on the work of the fallen leader. First
and foremost, Rachel Walden is an educator who has taught at a
range of schools, academies, and other learning institutions. Her
experience ranges from teaching at eminent New England secondary
institutions, to innovative academies and charter schools in
Harlem, New York.
Ms. Walden currently serves as the Vice President for Programming
for the Trinity College Black Alumni Organization. In this her
second term as a BAO executive board member, she is responsible
planning and implementing a series of events for students and alum
of Trinity College that furthers the mission and purpose of the
organization.
Prior to holding the position of
Vice-President for Programming, Rachel served the BAO for three
years as secretary.
While at Trinity, Ms. Walden has held many leadership roles on
campus at the Admissions Office and the Women's Center, and
actively participated in numerous campus groups such as the Gospel
Choir, PAA (now know as IMANI), and TCBWO.
Rachel holds a Masters Degree in secondary education from Tufts
University, as well as a Bachelors of Arts in American Studies
from Trinity.
