Tanya D. Jones graduated
from Trinity College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. As a
Trinity student Tanya took full advantage of the liberal arts
arena and the endless opportunities for self discovery. She
participated in over 10 campus organizations including Pan African
Alliance, Collective Voices, and what she considers the best
sorority she will ever be a part of, the all female acapella
group, The Trinitones.
After graduating
from Trinity, Tanya moved to New York City to pursue a career in
television. She began working at the Food Network as the assistant
to the Senior VP of Operations. In 1998 she was promoted to Talent
Coordinator, acting as the liaison between the celebrity talent
and the network's marketing, affiliate sales, and production
departments. After a year, she was promoted again to Assistant
Producer. Today, Tanya is an Associate Producer on shows such as
How To Boil Water, My Country My Kitchen, and a host of specials.
Tanya is also working on developing her very own video production
company.
As a devoted alumna Tanya
has served on the NY Young Alumni Committee, volunteered on the
Alumni Admissions Committee, served as Class Secretary (1997), and
was recently appointed as Co-Vice President for Development of the
Black Alumni Organization. As the first recipient of the Black
Alumni Scholarship Award, Tanya is excited to give back to her
community and raise the funds that will one day help pave the way
for a Trinity College student.
