From the WEST on I-84 (arriving from Danbury, West Hartford, etc.)
- Head eastbound towards Hartford on I-84, and take EXIT 48, CAPITOL AVENUE.
- Turn LEFT at the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp.
- At the first traffic light, turn RIGHT at the statue of Lafayette on horseback onto Washington Street.
- Proceed STRAIGHT on Washington St. for 8 traffic lights (the total of 1.1 miles), passing the hospital complex on the left. Turn RIGHT at 8th light onto New Britain Avenue.
- Go .3 miles to the next traffic light. Turn RIGHT onto Broad Street.
- LEFT at 1/10 of a mile at the black iron gate and driveway leading into the Trinity College campus. The first long brick building on your right is the Ferris Athletic Center; the Austin Arts Center is the next (gray concrete) building on your right. Park in the lot behind Austin Arts Center, or any nearby lot, and enter through the front of the building. Welcome!
From the EAST on I-84 (arriving from Boston, Manchester, etc.)
- Head westbound towards Hartford on I-84, and take EXIT 48, ASYLUM AVENUE
- At the end of the exit, turn LEFT onto Asylum Street.
- Staying in the right-hand lane, follow the roadway to the right, hugging Bushnell Park. Turn RIGHT through the brownstone arch onto Trinity Street.
- LEFT at the second stop light onto Washington Street. (The Bushnell Memorial Hall and a statue of Lafayette on horseback will be on your left, the State Capitol on your right).
- Proceed STRAIGHT on Washington St. for 8 traffic lights (the total of 1.1 miles), passing the hospital complex on the left. At 8th light, turn RIGHT onto New Britain Avenue.
- Go .3 miles to the next traffic light. Turn RIGHT onto Broad Street.
- LEFT at 1/10 of a mile at the black iron gate and driveway leading into the Trinity College campus. From the NORTH or SOUTH on I-91 (New Haven or Springfield)
- Take EXIT 27, AIRPORT ROAD (shared exit for north & southbound travelers)
- At the bottom of the exit, LEFT at the light onto Brainard Road
- LEFT at light onto Airport Road (McDonald's will be on your right)
- STRAIGHT through next 7 lights (Airport Road turns into Brown St.) until reaching the major intersection of Brown St. and Maple Avenue (CVS on left, First & Last Pizza across street on opposite left corner, 7-11 store on right)
- RIGHT onto Maple Avenue
- 2nd LEFT at fork onto Broad Street
- STRAIGHT through 4 stop signs
- STRAIGHT at light at intersection of Broad St. and New Britain Avenue
- LEFT at 1/10 of a mile at the black iron gate and driveway leading into the Trinity College campus. When leaving campus:
Return to I-84: Take Broad or Summit Street to New Britain Avenue, turning left on New Britain Avenue and then left onto Washington Street. When you reach the intersection with Capitol Avenue (Lafayette's horse will be on your left, the Capitol will be straight ahead), turn left, following the signs for I-84. Staying in the right lane, follow Capitol Ave. The entrance ramp for I-84 West is on the right; For I-84 East, take a right at the next light onto Broad St, and the ramp will be on your right.
Return to I-91: Use the I-91 directions in reverse (Broad -> Maple -> Brown -> Airport Road). I-91 South entrance will be on your right on Airport Road; I-91 North entrance will be around the corner to your right on Brainard Road.
