| "So far,
we're very pleased with the response to Trinity Exchange and
the feed back and suggestions we've received from
users." Rama Sudhakar, director of marketing |

The
Trinity Exchange launched successfully on
November 18, replacing the College’s overburdened QP system with a
central online source of daily news, events, and information. The
Exchange, a joint effort between the Communications Office and the
Computing Center, appears twice daily in the e-mail inboxes of
students and employees of Trinity, replacing a
system that often left users’ inboxes cluttered with tens of
messages daily.
The
Exchange team is currently working on further enhancements to the
system, says Rama Sudhakar, director of marketing and a project
leader on the Exchange. These enhancements may include a centralized
event calendar that
will draw its information from the events entered into the Exchange,
and a classified ads section, Sudhakar says.
Sudhakar
and the Exchange development team have fielded many questions from
users as the College completes the transition to the Trinity
Exchange. She provided the Quad with answers to some of the most
frequently asked questions about using the Trinity Exchange.
Q:
What should I do if I have forgotten my password?
Users
who have forgotten or lost their passwords may contact me directly.
Users’ passwords will be reset to a randomly generated password
which will be e-mailed directly to them, at which time they can
change the new password to one of their own choosing.
Q:
The text is too small for me to read. Can I adjust this?
The
font size of Trinity Exchange has been set up to display at a size
relative to users’ browser font settings. Changes to the size of
type on the Exchange may be made by adjusting the computer’s
default font size.
Q:
I am a retired employee of Trinity College. Can
I view the Exchange?
Yes.
You may log onto the Exchange at www.trincoll.edu/trinexchange. We
are currently assessing interest among retirees to determine if we
should add them to the Exchange e-mail distribution list. In the
meantime, interested retirees may contact me directly to be added to
the Exchange’s distribution list.
Q:
What Internet browser software should I use to view the Exchange?
Internet
Explorer version 5.0 and up, or Netscape version 6.2 and up is
recommended for use with the Exchange. These browser software
programs are generally in use throughout the College. This applies
to both PC and Mac platforms (for Macs, operating system OS 9 and up
will be needed). If you require any software upgrades or have
browser questions, please call the
computing center help desk at ext. 2100 as soon as possible.
Q:
I recently won the ongoing “Tame the Beast” T-shirt
contest. When
will I receive my T-shirt?
Congratulations!
Trinity Exchange T-shirts should be available before December break.
We will notify all winners of their arrival.

questions or comments may be directed to Sudhakar at rama.sudhakar@trincoll.edu
