Campus Master Plan--Completed Projects:
Residential Housing--The Summit at Trinity College

Trinity College

Trinity believes that residential housing should offer attractive and comfortable spaces for living as well as provide a variety of opportunities for extending learning and fostering a sense of community.  A key recommendation of the new Strategic Plan calls for the creation of learning centers, within both existing and new dorms, in which classroom learning is explored in small-group discussions with and without faculty members.  The first of such learning centers, the Tutorial College for sophomores, is housed in the new Summit Tower residence hall, part of the Summit Residences and Court.

In phase one of the Campus Master Plan, the completion of the Summit Residences significantly improves the quality of residential life at Trinity.  Designed by world-renowned architect William Rawn, the residences are linked to the College’s advanced technology network and provide single bedrooms -- most in suite configurations -- as well as congenial new social spaces.  The new dormitory complements the one designed by architect Tai Soo Kim and completed in 1997 on the north end of campus.  Together, the new dormitories dramatically augment the available living space on campus.  Construction began in the summer of 1999 and was completed in the summer of 2000.

The photographs on this page show the Summit Residences complex as it appears today.  Other images of various stages of the project can also be seen, from concept through construction.
