Lead pollutants in the soil don’t pose an immediate threat to adults and teenagers. However, young children who do not know any better can accidentally ingest lead toxins from the soil. A young child may be playing outside in soil contaminated with lead. They could be pushing the dirt around with their trucks. They finish playing and they go inside and pick up a candy. Their dirty hands transfer the lead toxins from their hands to the candy inside to their body.
