Requirements:

1. Attendance in class and participation in discussion are required.

2. Each student will participate in one group presentation to the class (date to be assigned in first class). You must choose a work (or works) of art and make a presentation from the standpoint of the philosopher just studied.

3. Three 5-8 page papers on philosophers on whom you are not making an oral presentation. These papers must have two parts. In Part I, you interpret a work of art of your own choosing from the standpoint of the philosopher in question. In Part II, you evaluate the efficacy of that way of interpreting art. What does it reveal? Conceal? Etc. Your three papers must include art works in at least two different media. Papers are due one week after the completion of the philosopher studied. NO LATE PAPERS. Papers may not be submitted later than one week after completing our study of each philosopher
