West Hartford Jewish Community

"Do not separate yourself from your community"- Rabbi Hillel from Pirke Avot

Gloria has dedicated a large portion of her life to Jewish involvement with the West Hartford Jewish community. This has been an enriching and fulfilling part of her Jewish development.

Gloria has been an active part of the West Hartford Jewish community and a loyal member to the Emmanuel Synagogue. She has done over 134 Haftorahs and can chant Troph.

According to Gloria,  "I used to come to the Emmanuel every Friday night when I lived in Willimantic. We traveled 30 miles to come to the Emmanuel. And I said, “Someday, I’m going to be a member of this synagogue. And when we moved here, they didn’t have to wait to come and solicit.” I said, “I’m going to be a member of this place.” After joining the Jewish historical society, I went to the Emmanuel. And I’ve been active there ever since."
