Sukkot
You shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are home-born in Israel shall dwell in booths; that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am HaShem your G-d- Leviticus 23
Within Gloria Bein's life, Sukkot has played a crucial role. Every year, she invites the community to decorate and adorn her Sukkah ("booth") in her home. This tradition has brought Gloria closer to the Jews residing within West Hartford, and it has allowed people of all ages to fulfill this important mitzvah ("commandment"). She has received national attention from this event, and her Sukkah is adorned with art and crafts from all over the world. Young and old alike come to decorate her Kosher Sukkah, and everyone has a great time!
