LODGING
INFORMATION
We have arranged two lodging options with special rates for conference participants:
1.
HASTINGS
HOTEL

We
have reserved a block of rooms at a special conference rate of $80.00 per night,
single or double occupancy, at the Hastings Hotel.
A single room consists of one (1) double bed and a double room consists of two
(2) twin beds. The Hastings is located a short distance from
the Trinity campus, and we will run shuttle service to and from the campus.
The Hastings Hotel offers airport shuttle service, complimentary shuttle service to area attractions, and full hotel amenities, including restaurants and spa. Each hotel room has internet access.
If you choose this option, please make your reservations directly with the hotel. You may call 800-569-4115 or 860-727-4200, or fax to 860-727-4507. Please identify yourself as a Rhetoric and Democracy Conference participant in order to obtain the special rate. Reservations must be made by May 20, 2001. After that date reservations will be booked on a space-available basis only, at the hotel standard rate, which is considerably higher. We cannot guarantee you will be able to book a room at this hotel after the May 20th date. If you need to change or cancel your reservation, please contact the Hastings directly at 800-569-4115.
Directions to the Hastings Hotel
FROM BRADLEY
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
Take Route 20 to I-91 South. Follow I-91 until it intersects with I-84 West
(Exit 32A) Continue on 84 West and take exit 47 (Sigourney Street). Turn right
off the exit onto Sigourney Street. At the 2nd light, turn left into visitors
parking lot.
FROM I-91 SOUTHBOUND
OR I-91NORTHBOUND:
Take I-84 West (exit 32A) Continue on 84 West and take Exit 47 (Sigourney
Street) Turn right off the exit onto Sigourney Street. At the 2nd light, turn
left into visitors parking lot.
FROM I-84 WESTBOUND:
Take exit 47 (Sigourney Street) Turn right off the exit onto Sigourney Street.
At the 2nd light, turn left into visitors parking lot.
FROM I-84 EASTBOUND:
Take exit 48A (Asylum Avenue) Turn left off the exit onto Asylum Avenue. Bear
left onto Farmington Avenue for ½ mile. Turn left onto Sigourney Street. Pass
the building and turn right into the visitors lot.
FROM BOSTON:
Take the Mass Pike (Route 90 West) to Route 84 West and follow the directions
above for 84 West.
FROM NEW YORK CITY:
Take 95 North to 91 North. Follow directions above for 91 North.

TRINITY
COLLEGE DORMITORY LODGING
300 Summit Street
Hartford, Connecticut 06106
We
will have a block of rooms available in a dormitory on campus.
The rate will be $35.00 per night, with linens provided (sheets, pillow,
towels, and blanket). Rooms with
private baths are unfortunately NOT available. You will need to make an advance
reservation for campus lodging.
If you
choose this lodging option, please include the room fee for two nights ($70.00) in your
registration payment (see the Registration
page). We will
forward detailed information upon receipt of your
registration.
Dormitory Directions
Please
proceed to Trinity College's Mather Hall, located on Summit Street. A
dormitory check-in table will be set up in the first-floor
reception area on Friday afternoon. Shuttle bus service
will be provided to the nearby Hastings Hotel for conference registration,
which begins Friday at 3:00 PM, and the welcome reception, which follows at 5:00
PM.
