Trinity College and the Hartford Area

Established in 1823, Trinity College is one of the oldest liberal arts colleges in the United States.  Independent and non-sectarian, the college is located on a 100-acre campus in Hartford, the capital city of Connecticut, with a  wealth of historical, political, and cultural opportunities in the vicinity.  The college moved to its present campus in 1878 and built on its main quadrangle an outstanding example of Victorian Gothic architecture.  To get an idea of the conference venue, click on virtual tour for a walk around the campus with photographs.

The city of Hartford is noted for a number of interesting sites, including the Old State House, the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Mark Twain House, and the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center (see links below).  The Twain House and Stowe Center are a short walk around the corner from the Hastings Hotel.  From Hartford, it is a two-hour drive to either Boston or New York City, and only a one-hour drive to reach the Berkshires of Massachusetts to the north, or the coast of Long Island Sound and Mystic Seaport to the south.
