22 : JURY PANEL

The Faculty Jury Panel has been established to staff the Faculty portion of Social Appeals Board hearing panels and to help staff the Faculty portion of the Academic Honor Council (Passed May 14, 2002; Amended February 14, 2006)

1: Membership, Election, Tenure

1.1: Six elected Faculty members, three of which must be tenured. Members may not serve simultaneously on the Academic Affairs Committee.

1.2: Faculty members will serve for a term of three years, with two members elected annually.

2: Jurisdiction, Obligations, Procedures

2.1: The Social Appeals Board hearing panels, consisting of two students drawn from the Social Appeals Board and one Faculty member drawn from the Jury Panel, considers appeals from students who violate the social provisions of the Student Integrity Contract.

2.2: The Academic Honor Council hearing panels consist of four students drawn from the Academic Honor Council, and up to three Faculty members drawn from the Academic Affairs Committee and from the Jury Panel. It hears cases of academic dishonesty brought against students.

2.3: Procedures for the Social Appeals Board and the Academic Honor Council are found in the Trinity College Student Handbook under the heading College Regulations, Policies, and Procedures for Students.
