Letter from the Search Committee Chair

To the Trinity Community:

Last May, President James F. Jones, Jr. announced that he will be retiring in June 2014, after a decade-long distinguished presidency that oversaw many important accomplishments at the College. As we celebrate the College’s 190th year, we look forward to the challenge and opportunity to select a successor to lead the College—Trinity’s 22nd president.

I am excited and frankly humbled to lead the search committee for a new president of Trinity College.  We are also pleased to partner with our search firm in the process: Storbeck/Pimentel and Associates with Shelly Storbeck and Anne Coyle representing this highly regarded and respected educational search firm. With their guidance and with a very representative search committee comprising trustees, faculty, students, alumni, and staff, we are highly focused on finding the right individual to lead Trinity as we approach our 200th anniversary in 2023.

We are planning a number of forums for various constituencies where you may voice your suggestions and preferences for Trinity’s next leader.  The calendar of upcoming on-campus forums will be posted on this site.  Additionally, we want your feedback even if you cannot attend a forum. An online survey is available on this Web site, along with opportunities to leave comments and submit your nominations. We encourage everyone in our community to avail themselves of one or more of these channels for communication with the search committee.

Thank you for your support and help in this process. We will continue to provide updates in the process, which will be posted to this Web site.

We look forward to hearing from you.
