Performing Arts Series

November 1, 2, 3, 2001: Capitalistic Acts between Consenting Adults based on the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, devised and directed by Mara Lieberman and Mitchell Polin (both of Theater and Dance).

-An epic theatrical event and extension of Huxley's 1931 prediction of a society composed of cloned babies, medicated citizens and technological deities.

November 29, 2001: Copenhagen by Michael Frayn, a reading directed by Mara Lieberman in conjunction with the Tutorial College.

January 25th, 2002: Oxygen by Carl Djerassi & Roald Hoffman, a reading staged by David Henderson (Chemistry), Sarah Raskin (Neuroscience) and Suzanne O'Connell (Science Center)

February 22 and 23, 2002:  The Living Theater, a special guest artist residency project, will feature a play created by people from the Trinity College community and the members of the company. Sponsored by the Austin Arts Center, the Living Theater will be on campus February 12 - 23. Judith Malina, co-founder of The Living Theater, will facilitate the development of a new performance around the theme of Scientific Freedom and Responsibility. March 8 & 9, 2002: Art, Science and Spirit creative performances by students and faculty from the Department of Theater and Dance inspired by the co-curricular initiative, including the premier of an original work by guest choreographer, David Dorfman.
