This half-credit course is being offered in conjunction with the project on Scientific Freedom and Responsibility. A diverse cluster of courses is associated with this project (see overleaf). Students taking one of these courses may concurrently enroll in this independent study under the supervision of the instructor in the course. Such students are required to a) attend a sizeable number of the public events sponsored by the Scientific Freedom and Responsibility project (the exact number to be determined by the supervising faculty member); b) keep a journal recording their reaction to these events; and c) write a substantial paper discussing issues raised by the panel discussions, the performing arts and film series. One-half course credit; permission of instructor required.

Sponsors of the Co-Curricular Initiative include: The Interdisciplinary Science Center, the Human Rights Program, the Luce Professor of Health and Human Rights, the Department of Theater and Dance, and the Trinity Center for Collaborative Teaching and Research (TCCTR).
