Article
IV. Duties of
Officers
Section
1.0
The Executive Board shall:
a.
Meet
prior to every regular and special meeting in order to formulate an agenda.
b.
Make
recommendations to the general body.
c.
The
Social Officer and the Community Relation officers will head their respecting
sub-committee.
Section
2.0
The Co-Chairs shall:
a.
Preside
over all regular, executive board, and special meetings.
b.
Serve
as an official representative and spokesperson of M.O.C.A. in all matters
related to the organization.
c.
Make
temporary appointments when nec3essary.
d.
Meet
three times a month with the general body and Executive Board.
e.
Serve
on the council of Multicultural Affairs.
f.
Network
with student organization on other campuses.
g.
Delegate
responsibility to the appropriate executive board member and general body.
Section
3.0 The
Secretary shall:
a.
Receive
and distribute all correspondences and documents pertaining to M.O.C.A.
b.
Record
and distribute the minutes of all M.O.C.A. meeting to the members.
c.
Organize
the agenda for all general body meetings as specified by the Executive Board.
d.
Send
voice mails pertaining to M.O.C.A. business
Section
4.0 The
Treasurer shall:
a.
Serve
as chief financial officer.
b.
Draft
and submit, with the approval of the e-board, M.O.C.A.’s yearly financial
budget.
c.
Make
monthly financial reports to the organization.
d.
Keep
record of all receipts and financial transactions.
e.
Receive
approval from the Co-Chairs prior to submitting any check requests.
f.
Attend
reallocation meeting with the Budget Committee.
Section
5.0 The
Social Officer shall:
a.
Organize
all on-campus events sponsored by M.O.C.A. This may include reserving rooms and
space on campus, obtaining liquor permits when applicable, and getting party
monitors.
b.
Chair
social committee. The committee should consist of a least five members who work
closely with the Social Officer. One of these members should also work closely
with the Treasurer.
c.
Plan
cultural event with the Office of Student Activities, Dean of Multicultural
Affairs and the Multicultural organizations of campus.
d.
Give
an oral report at each meeting concerning the accomplishments and activities of
the social committee.
Section
6.0 The
Community Relations Officer shall:
a.
Organize
community service events on campus and n the community.
b.
Create
ties with multicultural groups and schools.
c.
Advertise
community service functions to the campus body.
d.
Chair
community service committee. The committee should consist of at least four
members who work in close conjunction with the Community Services Officer.
e.
Keep
the organization abreast of all opportunities to participate in Community
Service and the betterment of the community.
f.
Give
an oral report at each meeting concerning the accomplishments and actives of the
Community Service Committee.
