 Trinity Wins Opener Against Drew

Madison, N.J. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams defeated the Drew University Rangers in terrible conditions, 15-8, at Ranger Stadium this afternoon in the Bantams' men's lacrosse season opener.  Bantam senior tri-captain Kris Tedeschi (Norwell, Mass) scored six times, while Greg Reading led the Rangers with a hat trick and an assist.
Brad Mendelson made 18 saves for Drew, which drops to 0-2.

The Bantams took a 7-3 lead into the shortened half time after the second period was interrupted by a lightning delay.  Tedeschi had a hat-trick in the first half alone as Mendelson’s 11 saves in the first half kept the Rangers in the game.  Reading had pulled Drew to 3-2 down when the half hour delay was called, but Trinity came out hot after the suspension with four goals in the final 11 minutes of play.  The second half scoring opened with three straight from the Bantams including a pair from freshman attacker Greg Brennan (Wellesley, Mass.).  The Bantams took the fourth quarter, 4-3, behind a pair from Tedeschi.
